Be it known that weZachariah Haddock and Cloe Haddock of the State of North Carolina and County ofPititt for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five pounds to me in hand before the ensealing hereof well and truly paid by Nasby Mills of thestate and county aforesaid the receipt whereof acknowledged myself therewithfully satisfied and paid granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto him the said Nasby Mills his heirs assigns forever one messuage tract orparcel of land situated in the county aforesaid and on the south side of Chicod Creek beginning at cypress on the edge of said creek then running south eighty west one hundred and four poles to a black oak Pasetons cornerthen south twenty east ninety poles to a pine near the Long Pond Branch thenceup the said creek the various courses thereof to the beginning containing by estimation forty five acres be the same more or less it being part of a pattent granted to Simon Taylor, to have and to hold the said bargainedland and premisses with all privileges and commodities thereunto belonging orin anywise appurtaining to him the said Nasby Mills his heirs and assignsfor ever one third part during the life of Unice Albritton only excepted andwe the said Zachariah Haddock and Cloe Haddock do covenant to warrant and forever defend the said bargained land and premisses of Uncie Albrittononly excepted to his the said Nasby Mills his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever claimingly from or underus our heirs and assigns forever in Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seal this 11 day of Jan 1806 ... In presence of us: Wm. Broom, Benjm. Paxton. Cloe Haddock [her mark] Pitt County, November Term 1806. This deed was exhibited into open court and proved in due form of law bythe oat of William Broom one of the subscribing witnesses thereto ordered tobe recorded. Richard Evans clerk.
